Hi! I’m an EU national moving to the UK to study and I have an Acer E5-551 laptop. The only problem is that I’m worried a simple adaptor would damage my laptop as I’ve heard some horror stories about adaptors burning hairdryers and such. So, I’ve been looking at the Acer shop in hopes of being able to buy a UK power chord for my laptop, but it seems like none of them are compatible with my device ( this is the one that I would need in terms of voltage: https://uk-store.acer.com/ac-adapter-65w-19v-for-notebooks-eu-uk-power-cord). My EU power cord is exactly the same in terms of consisting of two individual pieces that you put together, so I was wondering if purchasing the power cord above would work if I used the UK cord to plug into my current charger/battery. I’m not very familiar with computer language in English but I hope it made sense! Any help would be much appreciated as I really want to avoid buying a fake charger/completely new laptop.
