I just purchased an Aspire TC-886-ER11 and want to install my 5.1 sound card. The empty card slot on the motherboard is not compatible.  What is this slot for?

    Dear Restone,

How long is that card slot? If it is 4" long, it is the x16 slot for graphics card.If it is 1" long, it is the x1 slot.

Thank you for the reply but my Soundcard says it is for a PCI slot. The empty card slot on the Motherboard is the same length but the slots do not line up. Is the empty a PCI slot or something different?

    Dear Restone,

Those empty expansion slots on a motherboard are supposed to be PCIe slots. I just did not added the PCIe 3.0 or PCIe 2.0 in front of the x16 or x1 indications. Can you use your cell phone or digital camera to take picture inside the PC and attached it here?

Like what you said the card and the slot are of the same length, it got to fit. Have you ever installed PCIe cards previously?

    Dear Restone,

I would suggest you to try again to insert the card. Pay attention to line up the slit on the motherboard slot with the card to be inserted.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I have decided to purchase a new PCIE card but need to sell other PCI cards first.  I have for sale a hd4850 512M GDDR3 PCI-e Graphics board and the ASUS XonarDG PCI card. Only $50.00 plus $10 Shipping. Any takers?

    Dear Restone,

I feel very funny here. Intended to help a user having some problems, and now it is a sales promotion.

My apologies tttt you did help me out considerably with your suggestions pointing out what the card slot was. My decision to purchase a new card was based on what you said. Sorry if I offended you.

    Dear Restone,

No hard feeling. You did not offend me. I was just trying to be humorous. In no time that I suggested you getting another card, just hope you paying attention to align the slot and the card right during insertion.

My PC is TC-885-UA91, a 2019 model. From product description it has 5.1 surround sound, but I never used the feature. Since your PC is rather new, there is good chance it has 5.1 surround sound too (double check your product description). If you have three 3.5 mm audio cables and a receiver that can take 3+ audio cable input you can give it a try.

    Good luck!
