My  Acer Swift 3 Model: SF314-52 series laptop bought in 2017 stopped charging and went completely dead.  Initially the yellow LED near power cord was blinking but now it too has stopped.  Assuming it was a problem with the battery, I purchased and installed a new battery but it wouldn’t charge or start.  Appreciate if someone can help. Thanks

There are several pieces to the charging system. Do you know for sure the power supply itself is still good? Do you know for sure the battery you purchased is the correct one for the system? The other thing that could be an issue is the power input jack is connected to the motherboard by a cable. If the cable is not well connected of the jack has come loose from the case then things will not charge.

Hi Billsey, thanks.  Yes the power supply (charger) is good. In fact I first thought that power supply was defective and bought a new one. Later found out it was good. Yes the battery purchased was the correct one, same as the original. When replacing the battery, I checked the cables, they are well connected.

So we need to look more deeply into the physical connections. There's a cable that goes from the power input jack to the MB. Best would be if you could ohm it out to verify there's no issue. As for the battery, these days the batteries have some smarts onboard, so a battery that looks the same might not tell the system it's the same.

Thank you once again Billsey for your advice. I checked the connections and they appear alright. I do have a multi meter and checked the charger, it gives the correct output. I need some help to check the readings from the power input jack to the motherboard as I do not know what to check what the readings should they be. Also is there anyway to check the functionality of the battery ? I noted what you said about the new battery that I purchased - 'it might not tell the system that it is the same'

Any more information on this topic?

My Acer Swift 3 Model: SF314-52 series laptop just pop up the 9% battery left.  And surprisingly noted it wasn't charging. Eventually it just died and there's nothing i can do with it.

I've tried everything, but nothing would work.

Sometimes on plugging the orange light flashes for half a sec,  but that's all.

I don't know what you do it where to take it that i can rely on the fix but it isn't charging and i need it to work.

Have the same issue. The battery died, he computer turned off, and the cable doesn’t charge it. Don’t know what to do.

@Viktoriia you should start your own thread, give us your full model number, what you are seeing, what you expect to see instead and what you have tried so far. Have you tried each of the steps outlined above?
