Nitro 5 hinge broken

My nitro 5 hinge has snapped after 4 months of careful use 😳.  Its not the folding part but the long metal rod that comes off the hinge, I've used multiple laptops for years and never had this problem, it has sat on a desk and not been physically dropped and has only had normal use of opening the lid. When calling acer repairs I am told this is not covered under the warranty, upon searching the Internet im finding a lot of people with the same problem. I have bought the parts to fix myself, but wondering what the acer warranty actually covers? The support staff I spoke to said they don't cover Hinges, physical damage, or software, if that is the case then what is left???

    What is the exact model? Example AN515-51-75KZ. Now, in my opinion, if the damage was not caused by the user, I believe that the Acer repair center should review your notebook. But I don't know how warranty and consumer legal issues work in your country.

    Our Nitro 5 hinge broke too, plastic frame separating around the hinge. Too many people on too many boards complaining without resolution so here's what I did.

    Separate the plastic that was already opened up enough to loosen the hinge nut. 7/32" worked on mine. This took some pressure off.  

    Then, I located 4 spots where there was no wires or electronics inside and I ran 4 small drill holes and I put screws and nuts through. It holds tight and the monitor opens and closes without flexing and popping apart.

    Next, I need to get some black nail polish or paint to hit the hardware.

    Cost was about $1.50 at my local Ace Hardware. Poor design.
