Hey there,

So I recently had a catastrophic failure of windows, where I was unable to log in or use the factory reset.  I reinstalled from USB, but only have windows 7 on hand, and it failed to install the drivers for USB, internet and a whole bunch of other stuff.

I was hoping someone on here could direct me to where I would download those drivers from for my mobo, which, I’m not totally sure which one I have.

I’m also concerned that they have to be compatible with windows 7, for the time being, until I can get my hands on windows 10 again

I bought this computer 4 years ago.  It came with an i7-6700k and gtx 970.  I want to download them and burn to a disc on another computer so I can get them on this one.  Any help is super appreciated.  Thank you

That boots you into the Acer recovery environment, but since you have already reinstalled an OS it's likely been wiped. You can just download Windows 10 from Microsoft and create a install flash drive, then boot from the flash drive and reinstall W10 on your machine. The BIOS holds your W10 key so it should validate just fine. No reason to try and get W7 working...

While I appreciate the advice, what exactly does that do?

Thank you Billsey.  I’m back on and everything seems okay.  Double checked my disks and they’re in good health.  I’m a little wary of another catastrophic failure, but it’s good to know that I can fix it if it happens.  Marked as answered.

The worry just leads you to better backup practices, so it's a good thing. :)
