Microsoft BitLocker Pre-Boot PIN Support presumably broken in most Acer Notebooks

When you enter the PIN and press return the message "invalid PIN" appears on the BitLocker screen.

However, when you enter the very same PIN again it works. It is always the first time it does not work. Seems like a character is misinterpreted the first time, but you don't see which one, because you only see stars in the password field.
This strange behavior is not only present in the most recent notebooks, but probably in most (all?) of the past few years.

I observed this behavior in the Acer Swift 1 (SF113-31-C3KC) and the Acer TravelMate X5 (TMX514-51T-703H).

I would like to see some BIOS updates that resolve this issue.
