I purchased a Swift 1 during tax season last year. However, while using it last week, it turned off and wouldn't turn back on. I checked the warranty status, and although I purchased it sometime in April, the warranty expired in September of 2019. I decided to pry it open and check it out myself. I was not impressed with what I found.
The capacitor on the mainboard is separated from the aluminum frame by a thin plastic sheet. The capacitor melted the sheet and eventually shorted out against the aluminum frame. My laptop was immaculate. It was never dropped and while used daily, it was never abused.
Acer, can you help me out here? This is not something caused by the consumer. I have a pretty bad, first impression of Acer as this was my first Acer device.
