Predator PO3-600 External USB drives disconnect/reconnect frequently

Hello I have two Seagates backupplus drives, one 4 TB, the other 5 TB.  Using either drive, it will disconnect/reconnect frequently.
I have updated the BIOS to v R01-C1, updated drivers as best as I can using driver easy.  I cannot update the external usb drives bios as seagate states there isn't any driver needed for Windows 10.

I have rebuilt my box from scratch, wiped the HDD, reinstalled Windows.  Problem is still there.  It has to do with the USB 3.0 ports in back or the 3.1 port in front of the machine.

Any thoughts on this?

Have you ruled out the drives already then? That's the other commonality in all this, as in different cables, power supplies, maybe even different computer.

If it is indeed a problem with the machine I don't see an easy solution I'm afraid, and because it is an intermittent issue sending the machine back to Acer for examination will likely result in a "No error found" resolution.

Let's see if other users of the same machine chime in with their experiences, I want to follow this thread because I've seen similar behavior in a laptop, but in a totally different setting, the drives were being powered from the laptop itself so it could very well be a power management issue there.

Still too early to tell but I rolled back to the previous BIOS, R01-C0 and it seems to behaving much better now.  Can't explain it yet but keeping an eye on it for the time being.

Happened again.  So went back to the latest bios, R01-C1.  What I think it has to do with is the Enhanced Storage devices settings as I see that error in the system log just before the drive reconnects again.
    Source: EnhancedStorage-EhStorTcgDrv
    EventID: 10
    Level: Error
A TCG Command has returned an error.
    Desc: AuthenticateSession
    Param1: 0x1
    Param2: 0x60000001C
    Param3: 0x900000006
    Param4: 0x0
    Status: 0x12

    Followed by:
    Source: EnhancedStorage-EhStorTcgDrv
    EventID: 12
    Level: Information
A TCG Silo has returned the capabilities value of 0x6.

    Source: EnhancedStorage-EhStorTcgDrv
    EventID: 100
    Level: Information
The following informational event has occurred (0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0).
    DeviceStart

    Source: Ntfs (Microsoft-Windows-Ntfs)
    EventID: 98
    Level: Information
Volume F: (\Device\HarddiskVolume21) is healthy.  No action is needed.

Trying a new approach with one of the suspect Seagates, total flatten of the usb drive and then reformat it.  There shouldn't be any "enhance" storage on this drive now.  Will see if it drops/reconnects again.

Should note that this behavior is only on the Predator P03-600 box and not any other PC so far with these drives.

Reformat of USB drive got rid of the enhanced storage error messages.  Drive still disconnects/reconnects.  The only event log entry when it happens is this:
    Source: Ntfs (Microsoft-Windows-Ntfs)
    EventID: 98
    Level: Information
Volume F: (\Device\HarddiskVolume21) is healthy.  No action is needed.

    Trying the steps outlined here

    Getting closer....

I'd guess their method 4 will be the culprit...

Seems like the issue is with seagates 5 TB backup plus and the usb 3.0 port.  I plugged it into a different usb 2.0 port, and past few days no issues have recurred.  Plugged in a different device to the usb 3.0 port and that device has been working fine.

Other than losing my Predator wallpapers due to complete flatten/rebuilds, i'm happy with how things are appearing now.
