I've installed a new ssd into my laptop and uninstalled the two 128 Gb ssds that the laptop came with. Windows installation was successful, everything works okay for the time being. However, I would still like to use my old ssds separately and disabling raid on them was more trouble than I anticipated. I tried cleaning both ssds with diskpart.exe through the command prompt, but It wont allow me to initialize either disk after doing so. I am currently using them in an external housing device because I'm afraid that if i install one back into the sata port something might go wrong because in BIOS I can't access advanced settings (due to factory defaults) and change my sata setting from RAID to something else.
In summary:
-Old raid drives are unusable
-Need to access advanced bios in order to change sata setting
Specs:
-Acer Predator 15 Gaming Laptop G9-593-71EH
-Core i7-7700HQ
-GTX 1070

Sekeon in order to remove a raid array you need to remove all drives except the one your installing the system on then after the system its installed add the drives again unfortunately all manufacturers including acer have all bios advanced settings locked for the end user not to mess up and brick their devices theres is no way to unlock the bios via normal methods neither its allowed to discuss it on this community also have u tried the supervidor password to see if you have more options available after you input it usually unlocks the uefi mode to legacy and also in some bios the sata mode either way good luck :)

Thanks for the reply! Yeah thats really all i need so im hoping the password works. Im afraid if i install one of the old drives it will try to do some linking with my new ssd bc the sata is in raid mode, would that be the case? Is that something i should avoid doing to prevent corruption? Im asking these questions incase I'm unable to change the setting after making that supervisor password. In the end, my main goal is to atleast still have a usable ssd port.

Sekeon as long as you do not do it on intel rst on windows they will not be in raid as far as im aware not really sure as im not familiar with your model bios/mobo etc i would remove rst asap if installed also after you set the supervisor password and change what u need you should set it back to no password straight away regarding data corruption if youre breaking a raid 0 array yes all your data will be lost so backup whatever you need first as the raid 0 its the worst raid mode to use its stripping only and no mirroring its true its faster but its not secure at all if something fails its all gone good luck :)

Anyway this is your storage subsystem as u said u upgraded to a new ssd so you can still use one of the stock on the other port and the remaining other you can use it externally with an adapter/enclosure and you need to reformat the old raid drives under windows as they were set in raid mode they will be unusable until formatted if you had anything important there hope you backed it up also raid 0 will only work with drives same exact size/type and preferably brand similar to the ram in dual channel if you try to setup a raid array on a drive for ex m.2 and hdd the larger drive will disappear from the system and become recovery (invisible/unusable until you clean install the OS again by removing that drive previously) :)

Also it seems kind of unusual, but what if i were to take out my new ssd, install the old ones again and use a windows boot disk to clear the data on those drives? Starting the windows installation process gives you almost a lite version of disk manager, and i was curious if that would allow me to reformat the drives. Given if i was able to change the sata mode from. Im not ignoring your first solution to removing raid, i dont think it would be possible due to there only being two ssd slots.

Sekeon either way let us know what worked better for you and yes you should be able to format/partition any drives before installing windows  :)

Sekeon yes just search for intel rst if u have it installed just get rid of it i would do it with a uninstaller software like youruninstaller for ex or similar to completely remove all leftovers regkeys etc :)

So i never had intel rst installed (thank god) but i tried setting a supervisor password for my bios and it still wouldnt let me change my sata mode. i do have a storage driver named "intel chipset sata raid controller" im wondering if this is something that i can disable or get rid of somehow.
