Hello,
My laptop Acer Predator Triton 300 PT 315-51(i5 9th gen 8gigs RAM GTX 1650) CPU overheats at 93-94 degree celcius constant. System temperature is also more than 70 degree celcius. I dont think it is normal coz normally it should spike to 90degree celcius and remain below 90 while gaming. Bu lt mine is always 90+ for any game be it Human Fall Flat, CSGO,. Valorant, GTA 5. Anyone has suggestions to reduce these temps as I worry it may decrease the life of my laptop

Spandan as i said dont use xtu its just intel crapware set settings to default uninstall it and shutdown (not restart) reset bios to defaults and use TS any thermal paste applied by the manufacturers its the cheapest not good at all as i said if you can repaste it yourself  if not theres nothing to do unless the engineer would accept to use kryonaut if you buy it yourself thats the only option and in almost all countries they dont go to the customer house (consider yourself very lucky) neither accept anything apart from stock and most times its a bad repasting i have seen it so many times spread method and only a thin layer covering both diodes its enough  too much paste its bad

Spandan optimise your windows properly and undervolt with TS check here  if still needed repaste it with kryonaut or similar if you can without voiding your warranty or send it back to acer to get it repasted with stock paste your temps shouldnt go above 85'ish cpu and 70/75 dgpu max either way good luck :)

    Hey xapim!! Thanks for responding🙂
I have undervolted it to -0.125V by intel XTU but still temperatures are 92-93 even in minecraft. I have no experience in repasting it but 2 months back my charger stopped working(i did not know it was charger which was damaged) Acer's engineer came and thought it was issue of motherboard. When he replaced motherboard still he was not able to fix it. Then he checked for the charger and found it not working. He replaced back the original motherboard, did thermal pasting(it was from company itself i dont know which thermal paste it was). Thus, you can see that even after thermal pasting, temperature is not going down. Please help.

I guess I need to buy a good thermal paste. Which is better mx4 or grizzly kryonaut?

Hey xapim, I just did some changes in advanced power settings i.e. in processor power management, I changed maximum processor state from 100% to 99% and now it does not clock above base speed due to which it never goes above 70 degrees. It will affect performance during gaming i think, but so far everything is fine

Spandan thats not a solution at all and as i always say the person that invented that doesnt know anything neither had any clue of what he was doing and then to make things worse tried with success to push the idea online to everyone else and they managed to spread it like a virus and ppl even truly believed in it you shouldnt do that yyour disabling turbo boost and crippling your cpu might as well get a core i3 instead i dont see any purpose in buying a gaming laptop to transform it in even worse than a latest normal laptop :p

Hey xapim, I repasted it  from an external technician with gelid GC extreme few months back and still same high temperatures even just after repasting. But temperature drops after usage were very efficient due to this paste. This does not change the fact that I cant use 4GHZ Clocks on my laptop. I switched back to 2.4 locked again. Playing CSGO on 2.4GHZ will maintain CPU temps till 92 so there is not dropping in clock speeds and thus no frame drops(avg fps 200). If I try to play CSGO without this clock speeds lock, initially it runs on 4GHZ but just after 10-15 seconds temps will shoot, CPU clocks will drop, temps will again drop rapidly(thanks to gelid gc), since temps have dropped clocks speeds will increase and so is its temperature. This will give rise to a sinusoidal kind of CPU clocks speeds graph but with very less gap between amplitudes i.e. very fast clock speed changes. But on any other game, it just exceeds 93degrees and CPU clocks fall down till 1.6 or even till 900Mhz. They remain at 1.6 with very high frame drops. I remember playing PUBG PC few days back, all low settings fps restricted to 60, all fans maxed CPU clock speeds restricted to 2.4 still my CPU temps were 93-94 and this time my GPU temps went 90😢. I uninstalled the game as this was first time my GPU had seen this temperatures.
