Very Low download speed on Acer Nitro 5

Hi, 

I purchased a new Nitro 5 laptop with i5 and GTX1650 with 8GB ram. I am having wifi download speed issues. I read that this is a very common problem in the nitro 5 laptops and read a lot of people have asked the same question. Would appreciate if anyone can share how they fixed this problem for themselves. It is really irritating to have this low download speed while on other devices your download speed is fine.

Set your wifi adapter to fixed frequency(2,4GHz or 5GHz whatever your router supports) and fixed channel as well. Roaming aggressiveness should be set at highest. Turn off the QoS in the router. This worked for me.

Hi @batmalin can you guide me how to set the wifi router frequency and what is fixed channel. Maily i i ha no clue how to do any of the steps you mentioned. I would appreciate if you can guide me.

Go to device manager and  right click on your wifi adapter => properties and look for settings like in the picture below, all the settings except for the fixed channel and QoS (are on the router)should be there:

Hi @batmalin i made the changes tou suggested it made the things even worse. I can access few websites now but then not other. I can play videos on youtube in my browser but spotify app shows there is no internet connection. Is there a way to restore default settings? Also i downloaded the drivers from acer website but there is no .exe file in there. I am ***** with the laptop already.

Please help i cannot access speedtest or many websites also and internet is not working in any apps. I have changed all the settings to default but not sure what is happening. I downloaded the network drivers but there is no exe file there as well.

All the settings I told you to change are not affecting the access to the internet. It is impossible to get this issue by changing those settings, there should be something else, you better call your ISP.
