R271 seems to have died.

Hi All,

Flickered and faded a bit from left to right, and then went black.  I have two of these monitors and this problem only affects one of them. 

I tested so far:
  • Swapping power cables. Problem persists on the same monitor so doesn't seem to be that.
  • Swapping video cables at both pc and monitor ends.  Problem persists on the same monitor so doesn't seem to be that.
  • Unplugging all cables, leaving for thirty seconds.  Plugging power back in.  No change.
  • Unplugging all cables, holding power button down for thirty seconds.  Plugging power back in.  No change.
Other info:
  • When plugging power back in, there isn't the usual boot sequence of the Acer logo, Energy Star logo etc.  You just see the backlight come on dimly and after around 60 seconds or so goes off.  Blue power light flashes slowly.
  • When then hitting the power button again, backlights come on again as before (still no video cables plugged in at this point).  Blue power light solid.  Then after around 60 seconds it goes back to sleep. Blue power light flashes slowly.
  • When then hitting the power button again after having plugged in one of the video cables (VGA), similarly, backlights come on. Blue power light solid.  Doesn't sleep after 60 seconds.  No picture.
  • When then hitting the power button again after unplugging the VGA cable and plugging in an HDMI cable, same results as previous bullet.
Seems it just died.  If anyone has any ideas on what the problem is and if it's fixable etc, would be grateful to hear.
