Intermittent screen flicker or break-up on my new Aspire 5 since all W10 updates were installed.

It doesn't seem to be affected by moving the laptop's hinge or any other movement.
It seems to be worst after the machine has lain idle for a time.
Rebooting seems to help, when the flicker gets really bad, for a while.
Bright images seem to be less affected: not flickered for the last 90 minutes.
I've read that the latest Intel graphics VGA driver may not be suitable for this model.
The version in use is the up-to-date one: 26.20.100.7372.
For my machine, Acer Support offers 26.20.100.7212 instead.
I've downloaded this to the download folder and extracted all the files. What do I do next? Where should I move the files to?
There is no install.exe or setup.exe among the extracted files (An Acer Support page said there would be).
I double clicked on the setup_driver.cmd file but MS Defender intervened, saying it was unrecognised and could damage my PC, so I aborted the run.
I'm really pleased with the machine, apart from this really annoying problem. I hope it's not a hardware fault.
Any clear, unambiguous advice would be much appreciated. Am I right in thinking that automatic updates of the driver will always go and pick the existing 7372 version?

Uninstall your current driver and then run setup_driver.cmd as administrator

Thank you for the quick and clear response.
I uninstalled the VGA driver, as recommended.
The screen immediately started flickering even more, broke up and then went black.
With the default driver in use, nothing was responsive.
Hopefully, this suggests it is a driver problem and not hardware.
I held down the power key to force a shutdown and then turned the laptop back on.
I ran the 7212 driver's setup_driver.cmd file as Administrator, as instructed.
Once completed, I checked the VGA driver and it now shows as the Acer-recommended 7212 version.
No flickering, so far. I will report back whether this has cured the problem.

    Not good news, I'm afraid.
The first time I awoke my laptop from sleep and unlocked it, the flickering on the Desktop screen was awful.
I checked the graphics display driver and it had reverted to the 7372 version automatically.
I clicked on Roll Back and that reinstalled the Acer-recommended 7212 driver. All seemed well for a while.

This morning I woke up my laptop to find terrible flickering on the Desktop screen, once again.
I checked the display driver and it shows the correct 7212 driver!!! Arghh!!!
This is the first time flickering has occurred with the Acer-recommended driver in use.
The flickering improved greatly when I opened the browser, which is much brighter than the Desktop.
Any ideas what to try next? The laptop is only a few months old and in warranty.

Maybe it would be a good idea to send it to Acer for diagnostic.

I really want to avoid the inconvenience of that, if I can. If it's a hardware problem, it should get worse.
I still think it's a software problem. I've got a hunch it's to do with Desktop Window Manager.
The flickering hardly bothers me if I shutdown the laptop when not in use, rather than let it sleep for long periods.
It may be a coincidence, but all has been okay for the last few days, during which there was a W10 update.
    I'll keep you informed.
