Spin screen keeps falling backwards

I bought a Spin 3 during remote learning, but I didn't get a chance to work on it because I was using the Chromebook from school. I taught summer school and still used the Chromebook. Now that school is out I'm trying to use my Acer, but I'm so disappointed in this computer I'm wishing I had never bought it. First, it is heavier and larger than I wanted. The fan runs really hot so I can't work with it on my lap, which is a problem when you attend a meeting or a seminar and have no table to sit at. The hot fan blows directly into your chest when holding the computer in tablet mode, making it very uncomfortable and impossible to work with. And the screen is the worst part. It slowly starts falling backwards when trying to type on the keyboard. Every few minutes I have to reach up and pull the screen back towards me. Very Annoying!! How can this be fixed?

I think people here are going to need your complete model number to be able to give you assistance on what to do because each model is different.

But if I were to hazard a guess I'd say the only fix for your problem is probably opening the laptop and tightening the screws that old the hinges to the frame. Unless the hinges need replacement that is, I believe they can loosen up with time but the device you're talking about is practically new right? So maybe tightening the screws is enough to keep it in place.

Because I'm guessing, it could be a design flaw too, who knows, once you state you full model number people in the ACE program will be able to give you more precise instructions I believe (and calling Acer support is always an option too, but they'll want to service the laptop and you'll be without it for a while).

Yes, there are a bunch of different Spin models. I haven't heard of this specific problem from anyone else so it's more likely that the issue is specific to your machine. I doubt if tightening the mounting screws for the hinges will help, since that doesn't affect the tension of the hinge itself. More likely one of your hinges was originally assembled wrong and the tensioner part is either too lose or missing a spring.
