I have a complaint... I have an Aspire 5251 and the Windows Product key is not legible on the bottom sticker. I cannot contact a rep for assistance without paying money?! I just want to restore my system and have my computer back. I need a disk with Windows 7, I do not want eight. I also need my product key. If I have to pay mmoney for this simple request, you can bet I will never buy Acer again and will strongly advise others to steer clear. I am in the IT field and my opinion has alot of weight with everyonne I know. Just help me and I will recomend Acer.

    username-1n,

    Interesting and obnoxious posting.

Your first problem seems to be that the Windows Product Key is illegible. If you didn't write it down when you first got your computer, how could I possibly help you now?

Your second problem seems to be that you cannot get free service from a commercial company. Almost all companies only provide free service while under warranty.  Please explain the logic for you being entitled to free non-warranty service.

Third, you seem to want to restore your operating system.  Just what did you do to it to require a restoration?

You say that you want a Windows 7 disc.  Do we assume that your computer came with Windows 8?  Windows 7 is for sale by Microsoft and it includes a Product Key.  Make sure that you write it down this time.

So, your position seems to be that unless you get a free Windows 7, you will never buy Acer again, you will also advise others not to buy and this is a real threat because your opinion is valued by everyone that you know. Further, if we, the users of this forum give in to your demands, then instead you will change your strongly held and righteous position and instead recommend Acer.

Well 1pist, I don't know you and your opinions carry no weight with me.  Just where did you get on to issue empty threats at me as a member of this forum?

For you to use such a crude alias is insulting.  If you genuinely wanted help from your peers (no, based on your tone, superiors) you would at least have used your real name.
