How can I make a bootable USB for windows 7?

Hi,

I was attempting to do a factory restore on my laptop this morning due to problems created when windows 7 did an automatic update this morning.  I was 49% complete and I got an error saying the process has failed and now my computer is without an operating system and I didn't have back-up discs.  I've searched for ways to do this but unfortunately I can't get it to work as my old laptop has XP and everything I try doesn't work.  ANy suggestions on how I can get my laptop up and running again without purchasing Windows 7.  I even have the iso file but when I try to create the boot disc (or using the USB) I get more errors.

Basically everything I've tried failed so far so I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

I'm waiting for my Acer now to come back from the repair center from getting repaired because of this promblem. If your Acer is still under warrenty you should send it in. Acer is good with getting back with you on the problem. Call the number on your box.
