Does Acer Nitro AN515-54 laptops have Killer Ethernet? And if so how can I use/take advantage of it?

Also all laptops specs depend from country to country and there are many variants within the same model with different hardware even in the same country check your hardware specs with hwinfo in fact in the SG which is universal for all variants from that model in fact states 2 ethernet options a killer E2500 or a Realtek RTL8118AS (depending on the GPU you have) as i said check hwinfo for the complete hardware specs plus the acer stock drivers should work just fine they are tested and optimised for the best performance of your device

These are the different options lan wise and as u can see only the models with the (NVIDIA N18E-G0) 1660ti have killer ethernet all others have realtek

You can see very well in your device manager that you dont have a 1660ti and you have a realtek lan adapter so this issue to me its solved and its completely correct according to the gpu you have the 1650 you have its just a refresh from the old 1050ti chips that nvidia still needs to get rid of just a bit more tweaked on memory nothing else not much more performance for a 4gb gpu in fact a 1050ti properly overclocked (repasted etc) can keep up with a new 1650 without any issues.

Unfortunately whoever sold you the laptop if they advertised that it had a killer lan they lied in order to sell more it is not the manufacturer fault in any way many shops do this to cheat customers to buy more the only ones to blame here its the seller/shop where you bought it please take it up with them and good luck

Can you provide the exact model of your notebook? Example AN515-54-58VH and can also inform the WLAN and LAN model that appears in the device manager?

Hi! Thank you for answering my query, my model of Acer Nitro 5 is AN515-54-53RN. This variant is the one that has an I5-9300h and GTX 1650. Here is the picture of the network adapters in the device manager.

Is your notebook under warranty? Do the battery and power LEDs light or flash?

Unfortunately no, the warranty just happened to expire a few days ago. And yes the battery and power LEDs light up. And I forgot to mention I actually reformatted my laptop the same day the warranty expired, if that has anything to do with the Killer-ethernet issue I mentioned.

Before reinstalling windows, did the killer network program work correctly?

I don't exactly know, before reinstalling windows i have no idea that it even has killer network program since there is no default killer network program pre-installed when i got it. I just recently found out that this version has killer network when I'm reinstalling drivers from acer support because there are killer network drivers available in the website.

Hello again, so I followed your instructions on the installing the drivers in sequence. The first driver you recommended which was the realtek driver was successfully installed. However, the second and third drivers, LAN Killer driver and the Killer Software, didn't install correctly. It says "WARNING: No Compatible hardware was detected". This was also the case when I tried to install these drivers before I started this thread.

I think this network card is not compatible with the killer. The idhardware does not match, see:

Okay thank you for pointing that out! I didn't actually know that specs vary country to country. And btw sorry for posting my serial number. Any idea on how to delete that comment though?
