Windows 10 reset

I've spent all day at this with no success, so hoping that someone out there can help me!
I have an old switch (not sure the exact model, and the acer tool can't recognise the device!) which I need to re-set. It came with Windows 8 which I duly updated to windows 10. The image in the restore partition must be corrupt because no matter how I access it, it fails. I have tried to re-set through the OS settings, through the Acer (win+F10 menu), and by using the windows media creator, both directly on the OS (said the hardware couldn't run Windows 10, but it is!), via boot USB, wouldn't recognise it, and when I did get it working through the UEFI screen it wouldn't run it from USB, and finally tried to partition a new recovery drive, which it would not successfully boot from either!
I feel like I've tried everything that is out there on the internet, hoping that someone has an idea that might help?!

Fingers crossed! - Thanks

Once you installed Win10, the original hidden factory Win8x recovery partition is usually inactivated or inaccessible by the usual recovery methods (ALT+F10 cold boot method NOT WIN+F10).

    (1) If you used Win10 USB media creation tool, you're probably going to have to press F2 on a cold boot to access the UEFI BIOS menu. Then create a supervisor password in the security tab. Then save the supervisor password setting and exit the menu.

    (2) Then re-enter the BIOS menu with the F2 cold boot method and your supervisor password and disable secure boot.

    (3) Then  in the main BIOS tab, make sure the F12 boot and D2D options are enabled. Then save and exit the menu again.

    (4) Shut the machine off. Then insert your Win10 USB installation stick. Then start tapping the F12 key while you turn the machine back on.

    (5) A boot menu should appear to allow you to boot from the USB installation stick.

Thank you @JackE for your suggestion. I did try this yesterday ("when I did get it working through the UEFI screen it wouldn't run it from USB"), but gave it another go as I wasn't certain that I had the D2D option enabled.
So I stepped through the list, but got the same message as yesterday:

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.
Windows cannot be installed to this disk. Setup does not support configuration of or installation to disks connected through a USB or IEEE 1394 port.

It was after receiving this error yesterday that I changed tack and pursued trying to partition a new drive to copy the installation data to.

Hold on!!! You better find out what the full model number is. Whoever installed Win10 from Win8x on this machine changed the HDD to an older MBR partitioning scheme that was used on Win7 era laptops. Every remnant of the original factory installation has been erased doing it this way. You can install Win10 from the USB installation stick, but the BIOS must be in UEFI mode and the HDD must be changed to GPT partitioning from MBR. This usually can be done from a troubleshooting, advanced or other options presented on the USB installation boot stick. Jack E/NJ

    Thanks @JackE

I've dug through my e-mails to find the order from 2015! It came as Win 8 from eBuyer. I did the free upgrade to Win10 but I couldn't have changed anything from the factory installation, not deliberately at least as I'd never heard of an MBR or GPT until this week!

OK. Press and hold the power button till the machine shuts off. Then press and hold the F2 key. While still holding F2, press the power button to turn the machine back on. The BIOS menu should appear. Please post a phone shot of the BIOS Information and Boot tabs if possible. Jack E/NJ
