I have an Aspire 5 - brand new, I am having issues with the webcam.  It keeps going light and dark throughout video calls.  I have updated drivers and deleted them and restarted the laptop.  Anyone give me any advice?

Just to say I have exactly the same problem with a brand new Acer Aspire 5. Also, although my Device Manager says it is a HD webcam, the picture is very grainy and not what you'd expect for High Definition. Do you also have this problem?

I saw another post that said changing the flicker reduction from 50Hz to 60Hz solved this problem. Other users said this worked for them, but it made no difference on mine. Go to start button and click 'camera' in your programs list. Click settings (cog icon, top left corner).

    Hi @Jamie_C,

    # Try to update the camera driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option camera.
    4. Under the title camera.

    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title camera.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.
