why does my task manager show r7 m340 with 512mb dedicated gpu memory rather than 2gb? r8 m445dx?

I bought a laptop acer e5-553g-tofo few months ago and just noticed on task manager that it uses quarter of memory of the dedicated r7 m340
first of all laptop says r8 m445dx as its gpu but device manager tells r7 m340 and dont know why
I discovered the exact same problem in 2 years old post on this website but didnt really find a specific answer: why does the device manager say r7 m340 when the sticker says r8 m445dx and why does task manager say 512mb instead of 2gb?
if anybody knows how to correct this please reply
thank you

There may be nothing to correct, let's check the GPU your laptop actually has.

Get HWiNFO, the portable version is enough and you don't need to update to the beta one (it'll ask you when you run it). Go to the Video adapters section and post a screenshot of what you see there. You can also get the same information with GPU-Z for example, but it's better to go to one the the specialized programs when looking for these kinds of things instead of the Task Manager.

It could also depend on the drivers you have installed, sometimes they rename cards, but looking at the specs advertised for your laptop in a couple of sites that used to sell it, it seems to be an r7.

so these  are the both gpus and as u can see r7 m340 has 2gb memory when task manager says 512mb (I cant post task manager's screenshot here)
I tried downloading the one you linked but it restarted the laptop straight away so I just decided to go with gpu-z

HWiNFO must have tripped something in your system it didn't like :s

But that sounds about right, the 512MB shown in Task Manager must be related to the graphics card in the APU, the R5. The dedicated R7 has 2GB of DDR3 memory as its video RAM.

I also found more details on why the sticker has the other nomenclature, here's an excerpt from NotebookCheck:

The AMD Radeon R8 M445DX is a Dual Graphics combination of the integrated Radeon R5 (Bristol Ridge, e.g. in the A10-9600P) and a dedicated Radeon R7 M440 graphics card.

All is good it seems :)

"I cant post task manager's screenshot here" why? task manager is very easy to post, just bring task manager up go to Performance > GPU and use snipping tool to post the jpeg image of task manager, simple.

so in conclusion the system is working correctly and there's nothing to be fixed?
