My laptop info in cpuid hwmonitor says 'Designed capacity' and 'full charge capacity' under battery stats.
What are these two things? And Full charge capacity is greater than Designed capacity (Unit in mWh)

    Hi,
The designed capacity is the original capacity of the battery when it was new, "full charge capacity" is the current capability of the battery due to battery wear, over a period of time the battery will deteriorate due to chemical reactions, eventually, when the wear level becomes low, you have to replace the battery.

Adding up to what @brummyfan2 said, I can think of 2 reasons why the full charge capacity is larger than the designed one:
    • If the laptop is new(-ish) it could be because the battery can hold a little more charge than what Acer asked of the manufacturer. It sounds odd, but some manufacturers make units that can store a bit more. For example, for the A515-54G Acer specified the battery to be 53Wh, but you could get one that holds 53.5Wh initially before degrading. Some manufacturers are nice like that.
    • The controller in the battery is reporting a wrong capacity value. I've seen it mostly in cheap aftermarket batteries, either intentionally (i.e. they're rigged) or unintentionally (e.g. due to their quality or how they work), they report fake values for the full and current capacity when they're fully charged. After disconnecting the AC adapter the current capacity should jump to an appropriate level though.
