Have a new monitor and installed it.  But now have a flashing curser and icon in task bar.  How do I fix this?  Many thanks

Could you please elaborate the issue in detail?
Is the monitor connected to a windows computer? If so, does it have windows or any other operating system?

    Hi @EricJD

Sorry for the delay in response.
Does the taskbar with curser display on your laptop or monitor?
If on the monitor, this could be an issue with display resolution set on your windows computer. You may check by changing the display settings in Windows 10 on your laptop.

Hello again.  the curser flashes with a little donut on the laptop and on the monitor.  In the notification area, the little monitor incon flashes at the same time.  Hope that gives you a clue as to a possible solution.  Many thanks for taking the trouble to help me.

Are you running Windows on the laptop? Which version? If Windows 10 try hitting the Windows-P key combo and choose Extend instead of Mirror.

Have managed to stop the blue circel by using -
    1. Start with the Microsoft suggestion of going to the mouse properties.
    2. Click on the "Pointers" tab.
    3. Select the "Working In Background" pointer and click on "Browse"
    4. Select the first mouse arrow option (the one that looks like a normal mouse arrow)

This doesn't get rid of whatever is causing the system to have to keep working in the background, but it will at least make the blue circle stop popping up.

It worked, but I don't know how?

The curser was on the lap top, as I've said windows 10, but the Monitor is ok on my wifes W10 laptop.  Have stopped the donut spinning next to the cursor arrow, but the extension box in the notification area is extended with icons of the monitor!  Not sure what to do.
    Thanks
    Eric
