Went to turn on our Z3-715 today. Power comes on (blue light) but screen remains black.

Turned computer off. Turned back on. Same issue.

Disconnected power supply. Held power button for 30 seconds. Reconnected power. Turned computer on. Same issue.

Turned computer off. Turned back on. Pressed Ctrl-Alt-Del. Same issue.

Conducted searches in the Community and didn’t find an answer. Did an internet search and didn’t find an answer.

Any idea what the issue may be or steps I can take to try to resolve the issue myself?

Two things to test that I can think of right away: First try connecting another computer to the HDMI-In port. Does the display light up? If so the issue is in the computer side of things instead of the display side or things. Second connect a monitor to the HDMI-Out port. Does it light up? You might have to hit the Windows-P key combo and try changing monitors blind to get it up, but if you can get a display it's likely not the computer side of things. Once we know better what's not working we can try to drill down...

Hello; I have a Z3-715. After Windows 10 update on Friday screen remains black.  I have followed the above directions; The screen works when I added a laptop to the HDMI it works. I believe the issues are on the computer side. What should I do next.

    Dear Tontoe,

Since you said the problem happened after Windows 10 update, how about reverting it back.

After power on, hold down the "ALT" key, continue to hit the F10 key (I suppose this apply to your PC since it is an Acer ) three times a second until you see the dotted circle turning .

    Dear Bootselectric77,

Have you tried the methods that Billsey pointed out? Do you have the same kind of PC,Z3-715?
How did you install new SSD?

After installing a new SSD, you may need to take out the old HDD first. If you can get to the BIOS, reset the BIOS to the factory defaults.

Do you have on-board graphics prior to the Nvidia Graphics Driver update
    ?

We may need more information from you.

    Thanks mate ,
A local technician installed the ssd and I have the old one still.   Haven't had a chance to try an external monitor yet but will tomorrow and fingers crossed that works . Yes the graphics was working before but saw an update through nvidea that was compatible ..obviously wasn't..

So i have just tried to go through an external monitor and still has no signal .   Does this mean it's a graphics card issue ?

Same issue after Power Outage.  z3-715 black screen on start up.  COnnected another computer to the HDMI-in and the screen lit up (mirrored) my laptop.  However, HDMI-out to another screen just flashes back and forth Black to No Signal.  Must be on Computer side.   Where do I go from here?

Double check to make sure it's not plugged into a blown surge arrestor. They are supposed to be what goes poof so your computer doesn't have to. If that's not the issue it's going to be tougher to diagnose unless we can figure out how to get into the BIOS or a boot menu.
