I have an Acer Aspire a315- that suffered an unfortunate mishap involving the stock ac adapter which resulted in losing power during boot; my machine can literally spin up - albeit partially - and then it visibly fails from that point onwards. Upon testing the (testable) components with an ohmeter I've concluded that my laptop has a corrupted BIOS but no blue display or error codes that can confirm and I want to replace the Macronix BIOS chip. I sent an email to Macronix and they pointed me back towards the manufacturer; how do I go about getting another chip...laptop is no longer under warranty so I'm hoping to repair my laptop without much assistance. Thanks.
