Yeah, you just have to tweak the settings for the "close the lid" portion of power options so the laptop stays running when you close it, and tell it to turn the main screen off. It's very common in the business world where a laptop is often used instead of a desktop in the office.

thank u for your response. I will look into my power plan (triton 700)to review those changes. Is there any settings I need for dell 6000/6100 dock stn? Can you point me right direction for upgrading my monitor to a dual 27" /32" curved monitors? I was thinking about changing the triton 700 laptop to alienware aurora m5 but I here they have many over heating issues? Any issues with aurora r8 desktop?

I've used the Dell 6000 on systems for a couple of my clients with reasonably good results. There were driver issues and firmware issues when they first came out, but they seem to have had that all cleared up after the first six months to a year after introduction. It shouldn't matter which monitors you connect, though be aware that the performance isn't up to gaming speeds. I've got a Predator curved monitor along with two other flat screen monitors on my desktop and really find the multiple monitors arrangement very nice.

yours looks great. then, I do not need a heavy hitter - dell wd 15/16/19  dock station to push thru the video via hdmi/dp? money wise that cost to much.
