Initially, I loved this laptop.  So much so that I bought one for my Mom as well as me.   After a year, my keyboard keys started having problems.  I was told the only thing to do was replace the keyboard.  I tried but in the process, broke the laptop.   A few months later, my Mom's laptop has the same issue.   1.  Is it true that the whole keyboard has to be replaced?   With my Mom's its only one key that is not working but without the key, I can press on the rubber and it works.   2.  Is there somewhere I can get the keyboard replaced at a reasonable cost?  Most places wanted as much as a new laptop would cost.
Thanks,
Clayton

Keyboard problems that you described almost always happen or get worse during warmer more humid conditions. Usually due to hygroscopic debris (eg food crumbs) that gets sticky and accumulates under the keycovers and mess with the key signals. Short of replacing the keyboard, it usually helps to move and use the laptop to a drier environment for a day or two. Then, with a facial blush brush, gently brush and dig under the keycovers to try to loosen the debris. Then with canned air or a vacuum clean exhaust, blow air under the key covers while continuing to stir things up with the blush brush.
