Upgrading (or doubling) the GPU in a Predator Orion 5000

So I purchased a Predator Orion 5000 prebuilt rig in March, with an Intel(i7)-9700 CPU, 16 GB RAM, and a NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti GPU.

I got it home, set it up, was very happy with it until I tried to register with Acer and they told me that the serial code didn't match what I had bought. I checked it out - found it only had an i5 processor with 8 GB RAM. The shop called, said they said they'd made a mistake and given me the wrong rig, so as soon as they re-opened due to coronavirus I was asked to take it back to them for the correct one. As I was working from home they were happy to let me keep using it though.

Now i've got it back, and I just discovered that the GPU (which I never thought to look at) in the old rig was a NVIDIA RTX 2060 - a significant upgrade. Almost feel sad I traded it back in though - however the rig is not just for gaming, also going to be used for significant CPU intensive tasks and I need that power in both CPU and GPU. None of the games I am going to play are that challenging and for 90% of stuff the 1660 is running fine...

But I do occasionally use rendering software (Daz3D) and I've noticed it running a lot slower - quite often it exceeds the GPU Vram and switches straight back to the CPU. This did not happen with the old rig (although it did struggle to transfer the memory to the GPU as the RAM and processor initialised the rendering).

So - having had that taste of power - I want to start saving to get it back. If not now then in a few months time... I've never bought a GPU before - always bought a PC and used the hardware setup it came with until it needed replacing. I'm new to this (up-specing ,not using a PC).
My question is - am I shelling out just to buy a new GPU to replace the 1660 Ti, which for all tasks except rendering is working absolutely fine - or can I consider installing a second GPU into this rig? I haven't seen it written down specifically anywhere if this is feasible or if I am going to have to remove the 1660 and just call it a straight upgrade. If you do want to go for a 2 GPU rig then do they have to be the same type of GPU?

Any advice from people more knowledgeable would be appreciated. Can I add a second GPU in this system or am I just going to have to remove the existing one? And if I am going to add a second GPU is there anything else I need to buy (a bridge?). Either way can you recommend something that will give me that upgraded performance that I could consider as an alternative to the RTX 2060? What's my best option here?

You can't put a second GPU in, there's only one GPU slot. So you should look at a significant improvement before doing that type of upgrade. Wait and watch for what NVIDIA comes out with as new models in the next year or so.

Thanks, good to hear. Agreed - makes sense to wait a while, as this is fine for current gaming. Thanks for clarification
