I had this laptop for around 2 years now, it's the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52, this issue always occurs but I still haven't been able to fix it. Whenever I shut down my laptop it never fully shutdowns, the screen goes black but the keyboard lights are still on and the hard disk/fan is still spinning. Not only that, when my laptop is in sleep mode, I could not wake it up, even with F4 (sleep button).

Specs:
Intel Core i7 8750H
GTX 1060 6GB
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
Windows 10

Does anyone know a fix?

  • Hello! Can you inform the version of the bios? Also, does the problem occur when you disable fastboot in bios and fast startup in windows power options? Does the same problem occur when resetting the battery?

Hi, the version of the bios is Insyde Corp. V1.19, 13/07/2018. I've never disabled fastboot or even know how to do it, but disabling fast startup did not fix this issue. I've reset the battery but nothing changed.

  • To disable fastboot, restart windows and press f2 before the acer logo. Then, go to the main tab and disable fastboot. If that doesn't work, what happens when you reinstall windows?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpzLJRAZldA&list=FLVBqwtBw09_Z9tXo1Injakw&index=10&t=14sDoes the same problem occur when resetting the battery?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfhgnxUJoZo&list=FLVBqwtBw09_Z9tXo1Injakw&index=8&t=0sDid you add any m2 2280 ssd before the problem occurred?
