After a few months of researching I settled on this acer nitro 5, seemed like the biggest bang for the buck.

It comes with 8GB ram installed, it is suppose to be up to 64gb, but my question is what is the highest speed it will take? cpu-z shows stock is 2666, Crucial says 3200(but is has been wrong in the past)

I also do not see XMP in the bios. where is it hidden?

2666mhz  is the max supported speed by the CPU memory controller and the max amount is 32gb supported by the system. You can`t find XMP option unless you unlock the BIOS (you will need a SPI programmer in ordrer to do this), but I don`t recommend it because you can brick your laptop.
