Hi
Can you help please, as my TravelMate X microphone has stopped working. This is only a few months old laptop but seems to be having several problems.
Many thanks and kind regards

Right click on the speaker icon in the tray. Click recording devices. What do you see in the box that pops up? Jack E/NJ

Hi I have tried to provide you with the screenshot of what pops up after I right click.. I hope you can see it... this Acer comment page is highly unfriendly as it does not allow me to delete my comment or remove screenshot.... Hope you can assist me with the microphone problem ... many thanks

Right click again on the speaker icon on the lower right side of the tray. Click recording devices again. Do you see the same box that you posted earlier? Or a smaller box? Jack E/NJ

Right click on the Microphone sub-folder. Then click 'uninstall'. This will remove its software driver. Then exit DeviceManager without trying to re-install anything. Shut down Windows normally. Then turn the machine back on. Windows will try to re-detect the microphone hardware and re-install a new copy of its software driver. Jack E/NJ
