I installed a Kingston A2000 250GB nvme ssd in my aspire 517-51G. I installed Ubuntu 20.04 (I have windows 10 on a partition on the stock hdd). Everything went smooth, then it started freezing and only option was to power off manually, this persisted for a day, then it wouldn't boot, giving read/write errors and it can no longer even be formatted, just input/output, read/write errors. I've been given a refund-on-return from retailer. My concern is about purchasing the same make and model. it was my first ssd, and it was great while it would work. so I'm wondering if anyone has had similar experience or knows what specs I should be looking for. Is this perhaps a linux/ssd issue? would a traditional sata ssd be better? thanks in advance.
