I wanted to leave this here. Before you jump to conclusions and rant That i didnt take care of my laptop but that is not the case, i am an engineer and know how to take care of machines.

I had bought an acer A515-51-531Z at the starting of the 2019 and hardly ever used it because I had my old hp laptop and a tablet. My aunt brought it with her to my country from Canada. I only used to use it for light gaming like warframe and heavy tasks because my old laptop was aging. At the starting of September the laptop hinges began to crack. I kept the laptop aside as i didn't want it to break more. I used it for a while in December for my university project where it completely broke, the screen literally broke away from the body, all the supporting mechanism just completely failed, the hinges, the support metal rods, the mounting bracket of the screen, everything broke.. I kept it aside and finished my project on my old laptop. But then the pandemic started and our country had a complete lockdown. The laptop was kept aside out of humidity and moisture, but I picked to get it fixed even if i had to go out in the quarantine because my old laptop wasn't cutting it for my final online exams but the laptop has completely given up, it wont boot at all, doesn't even light even when i connect the charger. I decided to open it up to check and the laptop back plate is rotted and in a very bad shape, the nuts used to hold the screws down have broken out of their place because the plastic cannot hold them anymore. It feels like i brought the laptop decades ago because of how badly the laptop has aged in just an year and of such less use. This happened with what was a newer generation of laptop as compared to my 6 year old hp which is still working like a charm and only shows age in specs and not in the exterior. I have used laptops from a lot of companies but never have had such an experience. I should have payed a premium and went with either dell or hp, companies that have consistently been in the top 4 laptop brands and i now know why acer has never been in that place. Truly the worst build quality. Now i will have to go out in this quarantine and buy a laptop with inflated prices if i want to to be able to properly attempt my online exams. Truly the worst experience ever.

Tl;DR: Acer is awful, wont ever buy or recommend it to anyone. Cheap is always cheap. My old laptop has better build quality then this cheap laptop. Truly the worst experience. I am left without a laptop in this pandemic.

Sorry. This should have been at least temporarily repaired with 2-part epoxy last Sept to prevent further damage. Jack E/NJ
