Transient "no bootable device found" issue

Hi, I'm having the following issue with my Acer VN7-793. I'll be exercising medium to high computational load, e.g. gaming or watching Netflix. Suddenly Windows 10 bluescreens and tells me that no bootable device could be found. The PC restarts, and after POST I get the same error message by the BIOS, regarding a missing bootable device. But then if I wait a few minutes (it can work immediately, or it can take 5-10) the laptop just starts as usual.

Obviously this is not caused by wrong boot settings/config but rather some transient state of the laptop that wears off after a few minutes. I definitely feel lots of heat at the rear, so I'll try cleaning up the fans, but I don't see how that could cause the SSD to be indiscernible?

Thanks for any ideas!

  • What happens when you disable fastboot on bios and fast startup on windows power options? What happens when you reset the battery?
