CB3-131 touchpad click not working

My touchpad click stopped working.  Everything else related to the touchpad seems to work.  I have even removed the back cover an removed the touchpad itself.  Reseated everything and put back together.  Same issue.  I performed a reset and powerwash, same issue.
I can connect a usb mouse, and while it works fine, if I try and then use the touchpad click once, it then makes the click not work on the usb mouse as well.

Any thoughts?

Wow, that is weird... I started out thinking it was going to be a mechanical problem with the touchpad, then switched to a software problem, then back to hardware. :) I believe it could be either. If a hardware problem what is likely happening is that when you first click using the touchpad the switch is getting stuck and it acts from then on as if you were always pressing the button. If it's software likely a power wash will fix it.

Yeah it's a weird one.  I did clean off the touchpad contact and the metal bracket that it comes in contact with for the clicking.  But that apparently is not the issue.  There is no sticking or anything like that.  I will probably try and open it up again to investigate the touchpad further....or I might just order a new touchpad and hope that fixes it.  But I am open to any other suggestions!  Thanks for the response!

When you have it open take a look at the battery. I've seen some laptops where a slightly bulging battery pressed up into the touchpad.
