IhI have recently purchased an acer nitro 5 an515-43-R3TY (amd ryzen 5 processor and rx vga) and noticed that it only came with 4gb ram, still I ran the games: COD MW1, COD black ops I and II smoothly.
Now the problem is, I recently installed another 4gb sodimm ddr4 ram to my laptop successfully but when I try to run the same games my laptop restarts or just leaves a black screen. But when I try just surfing it does not restart or go black screen.  I checked on crucial.com and the ram I installed was compatible. What should I do? What seems to be the problem?

You have a speed and timings missmatch maybe this causes the issue.

Sell the 2400 one and get 2666 or other way around.

@GAMING6698 I have a windows 10 legit version and auto updated to the most recent update, is windows 10 really that unstable as they say? and what can I do to correct the ram speed and timings mismatch?

Thank you for shedding light to my situation, so I just have to sell my 2400 ram and get a 2666 ram right? and will the crashes I experience do damage my PC?

Well the crashes themselfs not but the many reboots can damage the hdd/ssd... but it is unlikely this to happen soon, so you can keep the setup untill you get new ram

@batmalin now my laptop won't shut down. It keeps booting back up when I shut it down ***** should I take out the newly installed ddr4 2400?

I got the module out. My laptop successfully shut down without booting back up. Guess I'll have to settle with 4 gb ram until I acquire a compatible one.
Thanks for the help thank you so much :+1:
