Why is my Aspire One D257 no longer listed or supported at the Acer Website?

My Aspire One was purchased on 11/25/11 and now I have a window opening at startup stating that the Program Compatibility Assistant. I wanted more information and decided to check out Acer's website.

When I try to locate information for my particular model, nothing shows up. Then I'm told the serial number and SNID number do not exist. This means I can't update drivers or troubleshoot any future problems I might have. Even if it's merely an issue with an operating system, I should be able to check out your website since you sold it to me.

This is like "buyer beware"... Acer will not support its products after just a year. Is this how you want people to feel? If I'm wrong I'll gladly apologize, but I've just spent a long time at your site and am pretty angry now.

I was at the Acer website and could not get to the drivers for my model. When I entered the required information (serial number, etc.,) the search showed "0" results. I tried cross-referencing my model name,  but again, nothing. I don't think you can get to the downloads or support unless you enter the required information about your device.

Also, I tried putting in the information at the "recall" or "class action lawsuits" page, knowing my device was not amongst this category, but I was hoping for anything pertaining to my needs, and then I was sent to the Packard Bell registration page, where I decided not to register.

Thanks for replying. I'll use the links you provided and hopefully this will get me there. Thanks for your help!

ADDENDUM: I followed your provided links and voila! It found my system. This is everything I tried to find the other day, when I spent hours searching. NONE of this was available. NONE. Maybe it was a glitch with the website that day, but, I'm a pretty intelligent person...and it was not there. That's why I ended up in this forum and found others with the same problem.

    Thanks for all the help.

I'm unsure what site you were visiting, as you do not list one.

Drivers are still available for the system and listed on the Drivers page.

I'm not sure what you were searching for, but if you'd like to ask here, we can likely provide that information.

    Which website were you at?

    Example:  us.acer.com

    Click on Support

    Click on Drivers and Manuals

Put your model name in OR select from the lists

    The AOD257 is definately available.
