Storage issue

I have just got a Nitro N50-600 and have a problem with the way the storage/OS is set up.
The OS and everything is on the small SSD with nothing on the much larger HDD.
As my SSD is rapidly filling up, how do I get my files to save on the HDD?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Yes SSD's are fast and you’ll probably want most of your programs on an SSD so they'll load fast, if you want that, then get a bigger capacity SSD boot drive to accomodate most of the programs that you use often, as having a 256GB SSD boot drive is pretty low capacity and it will fill very quickly. If not and as larger programs you rarely use are well-suited to a slower mechanical hard drive, when installing a program, choose the destination drive appropriately and either put it on the SSD or the slower mechanical drive. Also be aware that SSD's slow down as you fill them up because the drive will have a lot of partially filled blocks, which are slower to write to than empty blocks. It’s tempting to fill up an SSD to the brim, but you should leave some free space on your SSD—plan on using a maximum of 75 percent of the drive’s capacity for the best performance.

See this guide for an extensive guide of how to do this here: https://www.pcworld.com/article/2110095/the-ultimate-guide-to-proper-ssd-management.html

I appreciate your quick response and understand all that you are saying, and I will read the information on the link you sent.
The desktop came with the OS etc already on the SSD and resulted in the problem stated.
The real question is , A) how do I get the bulk of my files onto the HDD thereby saving my SSD to what it does best? or B) how do I transfer everything onto the HDD, including the OS leaving the SSD to be set up as a recovery disc?
