Hi. My laptop does not understand why it often fails to light up the keyboard but does not turn on the screen. At startup it will run the fan for a short time, the keyboard light is on continuously and the screen does not have any movement and cpu and gpu still emit a lot of normal. Many times I leave it in such a state for a long time it will automatically turn off and restart and turn on normally. I'm really having a headache because of my laptop. Please help me and thank you for viewing this article.

Remove charger. Press and hold paperclip into battery reset pinhole on the bottom of the laptop. While still holding the paperclip, press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Then plug the charger back in. Then turn the machine back on. Jack E/NJ

    (1) Did this problem happen suddenly for no apparent reason?
    (2) If yes, about how long ago?

This depends on the time. Sometimes I leave for hours while the CPU is hot and it is still the same. Sometimes it just needs to wait for 5-20p. And the special thing is that when I was using windows, the acer quick access reported red coolboost and power-off usb charging, so I rebooted the computer and it will be like that. This is more and more it happens. When I bring the device to work and when it takes 1 longer time than 3 hours, it will be and I have to wait very hard for the machine to come up.

Sorry, that's not what I meant. What I really want to know is, has it always acted unpredictably weird like this since you bought the machine. Or did it just start acting like this more recently?  Jack E/NJ

Yes.  Such unpredictable actions have lasted a few months already.  At first there was nothing to worry about.  It's getting more and more unpredictable.  thanks

Arguably the best and quickest way to rule in or rule out a hardware issue, is a full remove everything ALT+F10 cold boot factory reset while its disconnected from the internet. The 2nd best is probably an ALT+F10 cold boot refresh while trying to salvage your personal files and personally installed programs. Either way is major software surgery. But probably takes less time and energy than trying to find problem needle(s) in the haystack of an obviously hobbled machine. Jack E/NJ

This is similar to reinstalling Windows.  And do I need to copy important data.  Thanks for your enthusiasm.

After researching, I found this method is like reinstalling Windows.  Unfortunately, I just reinstalled the win 1 week ago and the condition is still the same.

If it was connected to the internet while doing the factory reset, it doesn't count. That's because the factory version will be automatically updated from the web soon after the reset is complete. Jack E/NJ

I just finished and unfortunately the situation is still working as usual.  I was thinking it might be broken at some hardware.

If the machine still wasn't connected to the internet after the reset was complete, and it was still acting weird, then, yes, it's very likely a hardware issue.  If the machine is still under warranty, then arrange for warranty repair ASAP. If not, then it must be opened to reseat all accessible connectors to the mainboard to see if this resolves the issues. Jack E/NJ

The device I purchased from 2017 until now is out of warranty a long time ago.  That's why I'm afraid to have the device repaired.  Thanks
