Hey guys, weird issue that I'm not sure how do describe. Please bare with me as I try to explain.

So I was in Word typing up a storm when all of a sudden, the "-" symbol started acting like the button was being held down and I couldn't type or anything because "-" was just stuck and filling up every text box I click.

I inspected my keys and made sure the "-" ones weren't being held down by anything and that nothing was stuck in them or anything. I then wondered if it was my track pad (I'm using an Acer Predator Helios 300 [2018] laptop) which I usually keep disabled all the time, but I couldn't open up control panel to disable it.

One curious thing to note is that my USB wireless mouse was plugged into the port closest to the the "-" key right next to the power button on the keyboard, and the first time I tried unplugging it nothing happened. *BUT* when I hit ctrl+alt+delete, removed the mouse's USB plug in and selected "update and shut down" then backed out of the process when it asked if I wanted to close my documents, the problem was fixed.

I know this is a weird thing to read and I myself don't even know how to describe it. It was just bizarre and now I'm worrying about my computer. Any idea on what could have caused it?

And before anyone asks, I'm always very careful not to get any water in my computer; I keep drinks far away from it, wipe up sweat as fast as I can, etc., so I'm hopeful no water or anything got in the keys, although I personally think the chances of that are pretty darn slim. Who knows though.
