A couple of questions regarding the Acer GN246HL Monitor

Hello! I just purchased this monitor and I was hoping for some assistance:

1. I'm experiencing some stuttering (refresh rate set to 60hz), is there any way to fix this? I don't think it's due to the games since my laptop display does not stutter at all. I am using the HDMI 1.4 port. Has anyone else experienced stuttering with this monitor via the HDMI port? I'm using one that's some years old so it could be the quality of the cable.
2. Since I'm currently using the HDMI 1.4 port, it seems I can only set the refresh rate of the monitor to 60hz. Is it possible for me to set it to 75hz or 120hz (preferred) using the HDMI port.

I just wanted to add that I have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 Max-Q and an intel i7-8565U processor. These specs should be capable of 144hz, although it's possible the default graphics card in my laptop is set to Intel Integrated graphics. Could this have any affect on setting the refresh rate?
