Overheating on Idle (Nitro 5, AN515-52)

I have had this laptop for more than a year now and recently, it has started to heat up considerable while sitting idle at 5-10% usage of the CPU and 0% usage of the GPU. I reach temps of above 80 degrees while either sitting idle on the desktop or while browsing web. This is something I have never experienced before as it becomes hot to touch around the area above the keyboard and I noticed the change in that. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Model - Nitro 5 AN515-52
CPU - Core i5-8300H
GPU - GTX 1050
RAM - 8GB (2667 MHz)
BIOS - V1.28, 05-08-2019
OS - Windows 10 Build 18363

I think its time to repaste your CPU and GPU also you can try to undervolt CPU.

If you want a quick fix. Go to power options and set CPU power management to 99% (Low-Max). CPU will be slower but temps will go down

I don't think I can contact Acer Support for re-pasting or anything else due to the pandemic lockdown. How do I under-volt it, using Intel XTU? And which parameter is to be changed and to what value for under-volting?

Sure, I will try and set the Power Management to 99%.

You can repaste it yourself but that will void warranty.

There are YouTube tutorials how to undervolt on XTU. Just look it up for your CPU model.

99% Max and Min power limit will fix issue a bit for sure.

I tried out the 99% on Maximum and 0% on Minimum, and the laptop did cool down from how hot it was before. Thanks for the tip! Will go to Support once lockdown ends.
