Owner of a Nitro 5 An515-42 here. I have noticed that the CPU throttles when it reachers 75c. Sometimes it causes shutter in games. I mean its a gaming Laptop and has a decent cooling system. why not increase the max temp of the Cpu to like 85c via a Bios update??

Nope, acer nitro and acer predator laptops can go upto 90°C and system throttles when temperature reach 90°C or more.

    Follow my steps→
To check real temperature first open nitrosense then minimize it and play your game, after playing close your game and post nitrosense screenshot here

Acer Nitro 5 An515-42 user here. Its highly unlikely that Acer will push out a bios update soon for this laptop. But they really should remove the 75°c thermal cap on the R5 2500U . It throttles to base clock (2gjz)as soon as it hits 75°c and stays there... Games become shuttery when this happens. I mean 75°c is a joke for this laptop. it has such beefy cooling.please fix this asap Acer.

Even I agree. A gaming laptop which throttles at 75 degrees is not a gaming laptop at all. Never heard this thing on any other gaming laptop or even other manufacturer's laptops with same processor. Acer please listen to your customers demands.  We all customers should unite together and force acer for an update on this asap.

they never listen to customers do they? If they are making a Gaming laptop then it should behave like one. I should have bought the Intel variant instead of Amd . they run at 80+  without any problem.

Hmmm more than 6 months gone and still no solution yet. And probably never will be coz acer probably forgot this laptop existed.

i have the fix bois that completely disables the throttling. You can now game at 80c+ without throttling. Dm me for the solution. But there is some work involved.
