Acer Aspire V5 cracked screen, can’t get past the log in to type in password

Hi

I have an Acer Aspire V5 touchscreen laptop. It’s a good few years old, I bought it in 2013. The bottom left of my screen has cracked and as a result I can’t get past the log in page because of the phantom clicking across the screen. 

Earlier there was a break in the phantom clicking and I was able to disable to touch screen and use my laptop for several hours without any issues. STUPIDLY I then clicked yes to update windows when I’d finishing working and the same problem has happened again. 

Could anyone advise how I can disable the touch screen without logging on or how I could log on to disable the touch screen again? Think I was just lucky the first time!
