I have an Acer Aspire 5742 which will not boot

When i boot up it says preparing repair then goes to a blue screen and gets stuck, I tried a Hiren's boot CD changed the boot in bios, it starts up, then shuts down, is it unrepairable?

    Had a new hard drive installed a while ago, the "expert" that installed it, put on Windows 10

    Press and hold the power button till the machine shuts off. Then press and hold the F2 key while turning the machine back on. The BIOS menu should appear Is the hard drive shown in both the BIOS Information and Boot tabs? Jack E/NJ

    Yes, I have no idea why it happened, a few weeks after the new HD

    Just rebooted and it is attempting repair, automatic repair couldn't repair your pc, so option is shutdown or advanced options

    Exit and continue to Windows 10
    Trouble shoot - Reset your PC or see advanced options
    Turn off your PC

    Reset this PC (Lets you choose to keep or remove your personal files, then reinstalls Windows)

    Ok, use the command prompt for advanced troubleshooting, got there

    OK. At the X : \windows\system32>_ prompt, enter 'sfc /scannow'. Let it try to look for errors and repair the windows boot partition. Jack E/NJ

    It was 63 percent thought, then switched off

    Restarted and I have logged in
    System restore " System restore did not complete successfully. Yours computer's system files and settings were not changed.
    The system restore is still in progress or did not complete
    Do i run system restore?

    Then it shutdown again

    Restarted and logged in OK
