Hey there,

I recently bought a Samsung Evo 970 Plus (1TB) with intent to use it as a D drive just for more space to install games. I have the drive installed and recognized as a D drive, but it always eventually crashes my computer with the error code "DPC_Watchdog_Violation". My computer works fine until I run a game installed to the D drive. The amount of time for this to occur varies, but seems always inevitable. I've attempted to update drivers for the EVO 970 from Samsung, but I get another error when trying to install saying "samsung nvm express device is not connected".

Based on what I can find, I think this may be due to my SATA is in RAID instead of AHCI (which changing seems impossible to do in BIOS with this Acer model). I've found the many topics on the RAID issues based around this model, but I'm not positive I have to go that far down the rabbit hole if I just plan on using the 970 EVO simply as extra storage. I have tried to dig around Intel Rapid Store Technology, and can't find any useful options. If it's possible to have the extra 1TB SSD as a storage D drive without changing from RAID, I'm ok with that. I'm also not against reinstalling Windows 10 off a USB if that will help provide a solution.

I'm not amazing with computers, so I might need things simplified for me. Let me know if there's any more information I need to provide. Thanks in advance!
