Hi Guys,

I purchased a new Aspire 7 yesterday and somehow I'm having constant wifi-connection issues.
All other devices ( Asus laptop, Iphone, Samsung,...) are all connected and not having any problems.
The wifi homenetwork is perfectly visible and after disconnection I can easily connect again.
Any idea on how to solve this issue?

Thanks and friendly regards,

@GAMING6698 Thanks for your feedback. I have updated as suggested but unfortunately this is not solving the issue. A few times per hour I am still disconnecting from the wifi while other devices are still connected and wifi is visible. Any other suggestion or idea? Thank you.

For your information, Norton 360 is running on my device. Could the antivirus be a possible reason?

I have taken all the above steps, although, first B and C and afterwards A, as B and C could not be executed if the smart firewall was turned off.
Unfortunately I am still being disconnected frequently.

From time to time I am getting the message: Wi-fi Network not safe in Windows 10. (running Windows 10 Home version on this laptop)
Could this be a possible cause?
I would not expect it as on another laptop I am running the Windows 10 Pro version and not getting this message / not having wifi issues.

    Any further suggestions?
I'm really stuck at the moment..

    TY and BR

    Hi again @GAMING6698

I have tried all the above.

    STEP A
--> Problem cannot be detected with problem solver.

    STEP C.4
--> The best driver for your device is already installed.

Result: still having the disconnection issue.

Would you recommend to return with the laptop to the shop or do you see any other possible solutions?

Big thanks again for all your efforts.

    FYI

I went to the store and got a new one. Possibly the issue was  related to a 'defected' antenna.
So far connection seems fine on the new one.
I will start re-installing my software one by one and evaluate the connection for a while after each new installation.

Maybe one more question: Acer has partnered with Norton and therefore Norton Security Ultra is automatically installed on the Aspire 7.
I received a free of charge 1 year access to Norton 360.
I am honestly afraid, in case the issue was not coming from the antenna, that Norton 360 was the cause.

Do you believe that the 'standard' Norton Security Ultra is giving enough protection or would it indeed be better to go with Norton 360 for higher security?
I would of course like to avoid new wifi-issues :)

    Cheers.

-Norton default settings may cause problem to webcam
-Also norton may not allow you to find some wifi networks

If in future any of these problems occurs, then change the norton settings
