So the summary of the problem is that I have a 2nd monitor which is 60hz and the main laptop which is 144hz. As such when I use streamlabs I usually drop 30+ frames when playing a game on the main monitor without the 2nd monitor. However, if I put anything on the second monitor even google or the streamlabs for chat, the fps tanks another 30+ frames. Thus leading to 60+ or more frame loss and it really sucks because I can't even play. If you got any solutions to lower the amount of frames dropped from either streamlabs or the 2nd monitor, that would be appreciated.

Are you manually dropping the rate to the lid screen without the monitor attached? Why? Jack E/NJ

I'm not manually dropping the rate to the lid screen.

What response have you gotten from streamlabs forum? It appears that this is a streamlabs software setup issue if you're not manually changing the frame rate. https://support.streamlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. I'd focus my initial request on why the frame rate drops without the external monitor attached.  Jack E/NJ

I believe the frame drops are because of the cpu bottlenecking when streamlabs use the intel graphics to screen capture which leads to the loss of frames. that's the only conclusion I can come up with.

Possibly. But doesn't seem CPU should be doing this. ControlPanel's power plan should be set to performance mode, battery near 100% charged and charger plugged in BEFORE you start heavy graphic loading.  If still no joy, I suggest that you pose the issue to streamlabs support link  https://support.streamlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
