Hey guys,

Yesterday I got my shiny new Helios 300 and I love it! Problem is I was trying to copy my copy of Forza Horizon 4 from my other laptop to my Helios - that required messing with permissions in the C:\Program FIles\WindowsApps folder - long story short I messed up and couldn't install anything from the Windows store (even after WSReset ) - I thought no worries, I'll just do a system restore...

I had a restoration point from 9:37 that day (the time I completed Windows onboarding process) so I went through the lengthy system restore (about 40m!) at the end of which I got :"System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed." which really surprised me as I've restored/reinstalled/installed countless copies of Windows throughout the years but never met this error on a brand new machine!

I thought no biggie... I'll just reset the whole system. That apparently completed until I got to the cortana onboarding process, selected my language and keyboard and then got a strange OOBEEULA error which did not let me proceed! I read online, restarted the laptop to find a defaultuser0 on my PC with a password I do not know. I decided fudge this, I'm gonna reinstall Win10 from a USB.

Now here's the crucial part - I DID NOT WIPE/FORMAT ANYTHING!!! Just installed a copy of Win10 (with other set to Windows.old) on my laptop. That windows is fine but I realised I lost all of the OEM goodies.

My main question is: Did I loose software warranty? I want to send it off to Acer for a wipe and to install 16GB of ram I bought (had to buy the 8GB Helios) to avoid loosing hardware warranty.

Tl;dr:

-System Restore failed
-System Recovery failed
-Installed a fresh Win 10 DID NOT WIPE/FORMAT ANYTHING
-Did I loose software warranty? If so how much would Acer charge to reinstall my system?
-How long is the RMA turnaround usually?
-Do we know how COVID is affecting RMA process right now?

Thanks guys! I'm not a noob so feel free to throw technical jargon at me. I've never met an error like this before and I've messed up many many systems before!
