Acer Nitro 5 - CPU Fan Problem

Hello everyone,

I have owned my laptop (Nitro AN515-53) since last September, and although it had its ups and downs I have been able to solve all of my problems prior. Currently it has an extra 512 GB SSD and 8 GB Ram attached to it.

My current problem is the laptop has been extremely loud. I have been cleaning the laptop with a vaccum from the outside about once a week. But the sound is still there. The issue isn't the fan speed specifically, I know this because I have downloaded Nitrosense and when I max out the fans the sound isn't like this. The current sound im experiencing sounds like the fans get stuck. Another piece of evidence is when I hit on the laptop (literally with my fist) the sound goes away for a minute or two, and then gradually it builds back up.

Since I now have Nitrosense I can also look at the fan speeds and here is what happens: nothing wrong with GPU fan. The CPU fan on the other hand is (for example) at 3300 and there is the horrible noise. As soon as I hit the laptop and the sound goes away, the fan goes up to 3700 ish. Over the next minute or two, the fan speed goes back down as the noise increases, the noise is the most horrible when the fan speed is at the lowest.. I believe what is happening is there is something that is blocking the CPU fan, and when I hit the laptop it moves out of the fans (allowing them to work) and then gets stuck back in there.

I have tried to clean the laptop from the inside once. I opened all of the screws, removed the panel and tried to get all the dust around but I feel like I wasn't very succesful because especially the fans are really strongly attached and I cannot reach around or under them. I have seen in other places people advising to use canned-air to clean the dust, but also other people saying that it makes it worse by pushing the dust in? So I am not sure if its worth it, in my first try I just used wet wipes to grab the dust and then waited for the laptop to become really dry.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and found a solution?

Thanks in advanced,
Zibidi
