I have the same laptop, and my friend has the same laptop. Acer Aspire V3-372. Right out of the box brand new both our webcams did not work. The light turns on, but the screen is black. Take a photo or video, black. All privacy is allowed. My antivirus allows it. My Logitech external USB webcam works fine. I have reset drivers, uninstalled and searched for changes. Even reset the USB extensible host controller (as per another threads advice). Reset the camera. All updates are fully updated. The acer website doesnt list a driver for the webcam. The driver is a 2006 Microsoft driver version number 10.0.19041.964, Microsoft Corporation. When you follow their instructions nothing works and then they advise you to go to the manufacturer. Everything i have found on the Acer forums says the same things, and none of them work for anybody. This is an old problem that still has no solution as far as i have found online. The only solution I havent tried is sending it off to be repaired after we bought it it brand new. Is there just tons of faulty hardware problems in the webcam for Acer, or is this a sofware problem? Thanks in advance.
